Sarah smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. “Thank you, Mrs. Johnson. That means a lot coming from you.”
Mrs. Johnson nodded, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. “I promise, Sarah. Whatever it is, I’ll keep it confidential.”
Mrs. Johnson leaned forward, her eyes locked on Sarah’s. “I mean, I’ve seen the way you always put your son’s needs before your own. Sarah nodded, taking a seat and trying to prepare herself for the worst. But as the conference began, Mrs. Johnson didn’t discuss her son’s grades or behavior. Instead, she cleared her throat and said, “Sarah, I think it’s time we talked about something else.”
Sarah’s eyes widened in surprise. “What do you mean?” she asked, trying to play dumb. Sarah smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over her
The room fell silent, and for a moment, Sarah wondered if she had made a mistake. But then Mrs. Johnson spoke up.

Mrs. Johnson took a deep breath before speaking. “I’ve known you for a while now, Sarah, and I have to say, I’m impressed. You’re a great mother, and your son is lucky to have you.”
“Sarah, that’s not a secret. That’s just being a good mother. And I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone. We all struggle, and we all make sacrifices. But you’re doing a great job, and I’m proud of you.”
Sarah felt a lump form in her throat as she realized where Mrs. Johnson was going. “I…I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she stammered.
