Sekai no Owari was formed in 2005 by five high school friends: Nakano Fuka (vocalist), Saori (keyboardist), Shokichi (guitarist), Mao (bassist), and Tetsu (drummer). The band’s early years were marked by energetic live performances and self-released music, which eventually caught the attention of Toy’s Factory, a major Japanese record label. In 2010, Sekai no Owari signed with Toy’s Factory and released their debut single, “Tennis no Ōji-sama,” which became a moderate success.
